ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES OF HEALTH CARE INTERVENTION

This is an introductory course designed for those involved in decision-making, regarding choice of health care technologies.
It is meant for health administrators, researchers, medical college teachers, post-graduate students, etc. No background in economics is necessary.

Teaching Methodology: Lectures, case studies, computer assisted teaching, review of articles and design of research studies.

COURSE CONTENT

General principles of economic evaluation
Research designs relating to economic evaluation, with their applications
Clinical pathway costing
Foundation of cost-effectiveness analysis
Types of articles available in health economics and how to read them
Developing a proposal on economic evaluation

Participants are required to bring a laptop.
Kindly bring database in excel spreadsheets for analysis and/or an economic research question with related literature review.
